# AI for Canadian forestry and resource companies

> Remote sites, heavy equipment and strict reporting rules make paper the default. That is the first thing to change.

## Where AI pays off first in forestry and resources

- Equipment maintenance. Today: Heavy equipment is serviced on a schedule or after it breaks down. After: Work orders, hours and inspection notes point to the machines most likely to fail next.
- Safety reporting. Today: Incidents and inspections are recorded on paper and typed up later. After: Reports are captured on site, even offline, and trends are visible each week.
- Production and yield. Today: Yield and downtime are tallied at the end of a shift by hand. After: Production, downtime and yield are reported by shift and by machine.
- Compliance records. Today: Permit and environmental records are assembled by hand before each audit. After: Records are kept as the work happens and are ready when an auditor asks.

Example project: A sawmill tracks downtime on a whiteboard. The first project records stoppages by machine and cause, so maintenance can target the repeat failures. This is an illustration, not a client.

## Common questions

### Our sites have poor connectivity. Does that rule this out?

No. Site forms can work offline and sync when a connection is available.

### Can this help with audits?

Yes. Keeping records as the work happens is usually the fastest win for audit preparation.
